How long have you been in business?
I began my business in 2001.
What is your primary product or service?
Primarily Dog Boarding and overnight pet care.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
When I was 5 years old, I decided to become a vet. At 10, I wanted to be a teacher, by 12 an airline hostess. After college, a Sign Language Interpreter. After Grad school a Human Resources Trainer, at 45 I wanted to play with dogs. After years in education and corporate board rooms, I am so grateful to be running around in jeans with dog slobber on my shoes and face.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
I provide a very intimate experience for your pet. I usually have only 4-6 dogs at a time. Your dog lives in my home with me and my 2 dogs. I call my business Aunt Kim's because it reminds me of the times I was allowed to have sleepovers at my Aunt's home and got to play endlessly with my cousins.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have only my home. I do not plan to expand. This is a small home-based business. I like it small and friendly.
