Nevada Humane Society is an open-admission, no-kill animal welfare organization. Our mission is to find homes and provide shelter care for homeless pets—accomplished through quality animal care, comprehensive adoption programs, low-cost spay/neuter services, and a free Animal Help Desk. We do not euthanize animals for time or space, only for medical problems where prognosis for recovery is poor or for dogs that show aggression, posing a risk to the community. In 2010, we adopted out 9,668 animals with a 95% save rate for all animals coming into our shelter—one of the best in the country.
